Platinum Ultra - 2 Part Epoxy Pool Paint:

"THE PRESENT AND FUTURE OF EPOXY POOL PAINTS!"

Platinum Ultra is our very best, highest solids, industrial grade 2 Part Epoxy Pool Paint

It is formulated with the highest quality ingredients and designed to provide your pool with long lasting beauty, maximum durability and UV protection based on our years of experience, research and commitment to excellence.

With its heavy duty 1:1 mix ratio, Platinum Ultra has a much higher solids by weight content than most other pool paints and epoxy and is ideal for new, old and previously painted pools. It will leave your surface with a magnificent smooth finish. And because of its solids content, along with the supreme quality of ingredients in its formulation, there is no primer necessary before application, it is a self priming material. This is why Platinum Ultra can be applied over existing pool coatings such as acrylics, epoxy and rubber based coatings, as well as on all types of bare concrete, plaster, gunite and fiberglass. Most importantly it is the reason why it is designed to provide a longer lifespan than other pool paints.

At 93% solids, Platinum Ultra can also be used as a cost effective alternative to having to re-plaster your pool! It provides incredible durability and leaves a "shield' of UV protection on the surface to protect against the sun and its harsh weathering effects. Platinum Ultra also dries quickly and resists fading either by chemicals and/or abrasion. It is designed for maximum protection against algae, automatic pool cleaning machines, saltwater and chlorine. Take a step up today and use a premium product that will protect your pool for years to come!

Coverage is approximately 400 sq. ft. per 2 gallon kit. Two (2) coats are strongly recommended for proper application and performance. No Primer Needed - This is a self priming paint

To determine the amount of epoxy pool paint needed: Multiply the Length of Pool x Width of Pool x 1.7 = Square Footage. Multiply square footage x 2  Then Divide that total number by 400 which will equal the number of epoxy kits needed for two coats. (remember that this product is sold in a 2 gallon kit)

SUGGESTED USES: Concrete, plaster, gunite and fiberglass pools, as well as spas, fountains, ponds etc.

COLORS: White, Medium Blue, Aqua, Royal Blue, Sky Blue, Black

COVERAGE: 400 sq. ft. per 2 gallon kit. Less coverage will occur on bare, rough, or sandblasted surfaces. 2 coats are strongly recommended for maximum durability and product lifespan. Be sure to calculate this into your projected quantities needed to paint your pool surface before starting.

FINISH: Glossy. For additional slip resistance on areas such as the pool steps or diving board platforms, Silica Sand can be added to the product during application to achieve desired texture.

SURFACE PREPARATION: If there are any cracks, holes or breakages in the surface they must be repaired using a standard patch and repair kit before application. (Patch and repair kits for concrete, plaster, fiberglass or gunite pools can be purchased from most local hardware stores.)

Next power wash or hose the surface to remove all loose paint, dirt, oils, suntan lotions etc.. (If using a power washer be sure to use a low psi to avoid oversaturating the surface)

Next etch the surface with a solution of 50% muriatic acid and 50% water, scrubbing the area thoroughly with a stiff bristle brush or broom, then rinse the surface. After etching clean the pool with a mixture of Tri-Sodium Phosphate (TSP) and water, scrubbing the surface thoroughly with a stiff bristle brush or broom, then rinse the surface.

Allow the pool surface to dry for a minimum of 24 hours before painting. After applying the first coat, allow it to dry for at least 24 hours before applying the 2nd coat. (While there is a minimum of 24 hours required between coats you may wait a maximum of up to 30 days before applying the second coat with no sanding or additional prep other than rinsing the surface required) After the second coat is applied wait 5 days to refill the pool with water. If it should rain at any time during application, add an extra day of curing time for each day of rain. That's it! You're Done!!

SOLIDS BY WEIGHT: 93%

WEIGHT PER GALLON: 14 lbs. per gallon (varies by color)

RECOMMENDED DRY FILM: 22-24 mils (With Two Coats)

VISCOSITY AT 75°F (24°C): 120-140 KU (mixed). If necessary you may add 6-8 ounces of Xylene per 2 Gallon Mixture if you wish to thin material for easier roll-out performance.

AVERAGE DRY TIME: 24 hours. Lower temperatures & higher humidity will slow down drying times. Apply second coat with no sanding required after allowing at least 24 hours for the first coat to cure. After the second coat is complete, allow 5 days of drying time to ensure that the material is completely cured before filling the pool with water. If it should rain, add 1 extra day of drying time for each day of rain.

WAIT 5 DAYS AFTER FINAL COAT BEFORE FILLING POOL WITH WATER.

REDUCER: If necessary you may add up to 6-8 ounces of Xylene to each 2 gallon mixture as needed for easier roll-out performance.

RESISTANCE TO: Chlorine, Chemicals, Algae, Mineral Oils, Fresh and Salt Water

RECOMMENDED PRIMERS: This is a self priming material.

APPLICATION: Brush or Roller (preferred)

Roll: 3/8" or 1/2”(Preferred) nap. Lambskin, sheepskin or mohair roller. Keep roller wet. Roll in one direction, re-wet, then cross roll.

LIMITATIONS: Do not apply if ambient temperature is below 40°F or above 95°F during the application process. It is ok if the temperature rises or falls below those numbers when roll out is complete and product is still wet. NOT FOR VINYL LINED POOLS.

SHELF LIFE: Maximum 12 months

MIXING: Mix both PART A and PART B individually for at least 5 minutes either mechanically or by hand, and then mix the combined volumes (1:1 Mix Ratio) for at least 5 minutes. Allow the mixed solution to rest for 5-7 minutes and then begin using. Do not mix more than 1 Gallon of Part A and 1 Gallon of Part B at a time. Note: If using a mechanical mixer be sure to use on the lowest setting. Mixing at high speeds can activate the product too quickly and shorten the pot life of the epoxy.

POT LIFE: 2-3 hours. Higher temperatures will substantially shorten the pot life.

PACKAGE: 1 Gallon Cans (2 Gallons Per Kit)
